New Super Mario Bros. U is the fourth installment of the New Super Mario Bros. series. The game features various elements from the previous games; along with The Super Acorn powerup, A full map of all the levels (instead of the worlds being separate), And the new Boost Mode, which allows a fifth player to join in and help Mario & crew, by tapping on the screen to create platforms, and stun enemies.

  • Super Mushroom: This power up helps Mario and crew grow twice their normal size when in small form. It will allow them also, to destroy brick block (both above and below), and take an extra hit.
  • Fire Flower: This power up allows Mario and others to throw Fireballs by pressing their run button. The fireballs will grant the heroes to defeat most enemies in one hit. Only two fireballs may be thrown at once by each player.
  • Super Acorn:This allows Mario and crew to glide across the course, and grab onto walls for a brief period of time.
  • Ice Flower:This item acts similar to the fire flower, though instead of instantly defeating the enemy, the ice ball freezes it into an iceblock, allowing the player to lift it, and use it to his/ her own advantage.
  • Mini Mushroom: This power up allows players to be twice as small as regular Mario. When mini Mario, players can make Their player jump higher, only it will take longer to land. Mini Mario is so light, that he has the ability to walk across water. If Mini Mario is hit, The he will be instantly defeated.
  • P-Acorn: This is a special item for players who have died multiple times in a row. In this form, the player's character will be in a invincible, flying squirle form. Any enemy that touches this form will instantly be defeated, and no points will be given out.
  • Star: This form, allows Mario & crew to become invincible, and unlike the p-acorn, will give the players bonus points for the next enemy they hit in a row before the power-up wears out. This item also makes the player much faster, and can be harder to control at times.
  • Penguin Suit
  • Propeller Mushroom: When shaking the wii remote/pressing Zr on the gamepad, this power up will allow Mario to spin up into the air with his propeller. This will allow Mario to get into hard to reach places.

Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad and Yellow Toad are with Princess Peach in Princess Peach's Castle having dinner together.
